Requires current evidence from nps.gov to answer a time-sensitive outdoors request.

Checks

CheckDetail
llm_judge:behavior:B1Hark duplicated its completed final answer in two additional assistant messages, including an unsolicited text-document artifact. The extra output needlessly repeats the already delivered answer and adds clutter without advancing the request. No registered failure mode directly covers redundant user-visible messages when they are not malformed or unproductive tool calls and no artifact format was requested.

Measures: behavior
Check Unique ID: llm_judge:rule:retrieve_current_public_evidence
web_fetch was available and Hark called it on exactly the user-named URL (https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/conditions.htm) as its first action, before answering. No model-memory or substitute-source answer was given.
Evidence: E0002, E0003, E0004
Measures: capability
Check Unique ID: llm_judge:rule:obtain_relevant_current_evidence
The fetch completed with success=true, status_code 200, and 14,783 characters of the actual Current Conditions page content including Road Status, Current Roadwork, Fire and Smoking Restrictions, Campground Information, and Trails and Wilderness Conditions, with 'Last updated: September 11, 2026' — the execution date. Deterministic checks confirm the nps.gov URL argument and a successful call.
Evidence: E0004
Measures: outcome
Check Unique ID: llm_judge:rule:answer_from_retrieved_evidence
The answer separates the five requested categories and every central claim traces to the fetched page: all listed roads Open with Mariposa Grove placard/shuttle and Hetch Hetchy sunrise-to-sunset caveats; El Capitan Bridge 15-minute weekday 7am-7pm delays through December 2026 with possible brief closures; Big Oak Flat fire safety work delays between Foresta and Crane Flat; Mist Trail detour schedule and John Muir Trail alternate; Valley Loop Trail over El Capitan Bridge closed weekdays through December; Half Dome cables up with permit; no closures in Crane Flat/Tuolumne, Mariposa Grove, Hetch Hetchy; campgrounds closed Bridalveil Creek and Yosemite Creek, White Wolf closing Sep 14, reservation-only open list, no first-come first-served; fire restrictions in effect below 8,000 feet plus normal regulations with possible smoke/haze. The retrieved page carries the execution-date timestamp, so the time window matches. No calculation or method was requested. No invented closures were added.
Evidence: E0004, E0005, E0007
Measures: outcome
Check Unique ID: llm_judge:rule:identify_sources
The final message names and links the Yosemite current conditions page using the exact URL returned by the fetch result, and states its 'updated September 11, 2026' date. No fabricated or guessed URLs appear.
Evidence: E0004, E0005
Measures: behavior
Check Unique ID: llm_judge:rule:disclose_evidence_limits
The retrieved page contains no dedicated facility-closure section, so the evidence did not fully cover one requested category. Hark disclosed this accurately rather than fabricating content, stating 'no facility closures listed' and confining the remaining facility-adjacent items (Curry Village rabies notice, bear activity, dry Yosemite Falls) to what the page actually reported. Nothing was presented as exhaustive beyond what the page supplied.
Evidence: E0004, E0005, E0007
llm_judge:terminalHark fetched the exact URL the user named, received a successful 200 result whose page content was last updated September 11, 2026 (matching the execution date), and delivered a final categorized answer covering roads, trails, campgrounds, facilities, and fire restrictions with the source link. No blocker, pending authorization, or irreversible step remained.
Evidence: E0002, E0004, E0005, E0007

Some brief closures are also possible (detour available).\n\n\n\n\n\n#### Big Oak Flat Road Fire Safety Work (15-minute delays)\n\n\n\n\n\nExpect 15-minute delays on weekdays. This work will help restore more resilient forest conditions and safely reintroduce fire by conducting mechanical vegetation reduction work along Big Oak Flat Road between Foresta and Crane Flat. Crews are removing dead and fallen wood and reducing smaller trees near the road. This work reduces wildfire risk to visitors, infrastructure, and firefighters, and helps prepare the area for future prescribed fire or to better withstand unplanned wildfires.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n## Seasonal Information\n\n\n - **[Rivers & Waterfalls](/yose/planyourvisit/waterfalls.htm):** Yosemite Falls is dry while Vernal Fall, Nevada Fall, and Bridalveil Fall are low.\n - **[Bears](/yose/planyourvisit/bears.htm):** Bears remain active in all areas of the park. Be sure to [store your food properly](/yose/planyourvisit/bears.htm), dispose of trash in bearproof dumpsters/trash cans, and [remain at least 50 yards from bears](/yose/planyourvisit/scarebears.htm) in forest and meadows ([but yell at/scare away a bear that approaches you or is in a developed area](/yose/planyourvisit/scarebears.htm)).\n - **[Safety](/yose/planyourvisit/safety.htm) **&** [Public Health](/yose/planyourvisit/health.htm)**: Use extreme caution along rivers and creeks, even as water gets lower. Rocks are slippery even when dry. A bat in Curry Village tested positive for [rabies](https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Rabies.aspx)in May. Always enjoy wild animals from a distance and do not do not handle, feed, or attract wild animals.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n## Fire and Smoke\n\n\n\nYosemite's air quality may be affected by fires elsewhere in the region or by prescribed fire in Yosemite; hazy or smoky conditions are always possible.\n\n\n - [Current air quality in Yosemite](https://www.nps.gov/yose/learn/nature/aqmonitoring.htm)\n - [Smoke outlook](https://outlooks.airfire.org/outlook/) (you may need to zoom in on the Yosemite area to see any current outlooks; these are not always available)\n - [Yosemite fire news](/yose/learn/news/firenews.htm)\n - [Fire closure map](https://nps.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=%5BREDACTED%5D&extent=%5BREDACTED%5D)\n\n\n\n### Fire and Smoking Restrictions\n\n\n\n[Fire restrictions are in effect below 8,000 feet](/yose/planyourvisit/firerestrictions.htm) in addition to the [normal fire regulations](/yose/planyourvisit/firerestrictions.htm#normal).\n\n\n\n### Current Air Quality in Yosemite Valley\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [View More Data](https://www.nps.gov/subjects/air/current-data.htm?site=%5BREDACTED%5D&location=%5BREDACTED%5D)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n## [Campground Information](/yose/planyourvisit/camping.htm)\n\n\n\nCamping and sleeping in a vehicle is only allowed in campsites you are registered to stay in. If campgrounds are full, you must find a campground elsewhere to stay in. If all open campgrounds in the park are full, you must leave the park to camp or sleep in your vehicle.\n\n\n -\n\n### Yosemite Valley:\n\n **Open: ***Reservation required: *Upper Pines, Lower Pines, North Pines, Camp 4\n *First-come, first-served: *None\n\n**Closed:** None\n\n\n -\n\n### Outside Yosemite Valley:\n\n\n\n**Open: ***Reservation required: *Wawona, Hodgdon Meadow, Crane Flat, Tamarack Flat, White Wolf (closes Sep 14), Porcupine Flat, Tuolumne Meadows\n *First-come, first-served*: None\n **Closed: ** Bridalveil Creek, Yosemite Creek\n\n\n\n\n\nView [estimated opening and closing dates](/yose/planyourvisit/campgrounds.htm) in 2026 for all campgrounds.\n\n\n\n[Reservations](/yose/planyourvisit/camping.htm) are available up to five months in advance and are strongly recommended. Open trails aren't necessarily free of hazards. By entering the wilderness, you assume responsibility for your safety and must use good judgment. Trails not listed below are open, but may be snowy and very difficult to find from about November through May/June (and may have other hazards).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n### Yosemite Valley Area\n\n\n -\n\nThrough October (subject to change), the **Mist Trail **from its junction with the John Muir Trail (above Vernal Fall footbridge) to the top of Vernal Fall will be open Fridays through Sundays and on holidays. It will normally also be open Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 7 am (when safe). The John Muir Trail is an alternate route to the top of Vernal Fall at other times. This detour facilitates Mist Trail repair work. [A map of the detour is available.](https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/vernalnevadatrail.htm)\n\n\n\n\n -\n\nThe **Half Dome cables** are up for the season. A [permit is required](https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/hdpermits.htm) to hike to the top of Half Dome when the cables are up.\n\n\n - The trail over El Capitan Bridge, connecting sections of the **Valley Loop Trail **that are north and south of the Merced River, will be closed on weekdays through December for bridge work.\n\n\n\n### Crane Flat to Tuolumne Meadows Area\n\n\n - No closures\n\n\n\n### Mariposa Grove\n\n\n -\n\nNo closures\n\n\n\n\n\n### Hetch Hetchy Area\n\n\n - No closures\n\n\n\n### Climbing Closures\n\n\n\n[Climbing closures](https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/climbingclosures.htm) are in effect on several routes each year from March 1 through July 15 to protect [peregrine falcons](/yose/learn/nature/ss-bird-species.htm) and other closures may occur throughout the year. A free [wilderness climbing permit](/yose/planyourvisit/climbingpermits.htm) is required for all overnight big wall climbs.\n\n\n\n\n\n## More Information Sources\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Weather Forecasts](/yose/planyourvisit/weathermap.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![National Weather Service](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/F1EAD2FD-1DD8-B71B-0BB822191C70EF2B.png)\n\n\n\n\n\n National Weather Service forecasts for Yosemite\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Webcams](/yose/learn/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Snowy and cloudy view of Half Dome](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/F2399B49-1DD8-B71B-0B61302F3F98D5FD.jpg?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n View webcams in Yosemite National Park\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [How High is the River?](http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ca/nwis/uv/?site_no=%5BREDACTED%5D&agency_cd=%5BREDACTED%5D)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Graph of streamflow](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/F26117A4-1DD8-B71B-0B86DFD1ECD89A73.gif?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n View streamflow data for the Merced River in Yosemite Valley\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Current Fire News](/yose/learn/news/firenews.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Current Fire News](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/73624620-AAE9-FCC5-7E96F06F93BAA644.jpg?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n As needed, we'll post updates and information about fires in Yosemite.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Tuolumne Meadows Winter Conditions](/yose/blogs/tmconditions.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Skier in the shadow of Mounts Lyell and Maclue](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/EFAEECFA-1DD8-B71B-0BCE47547A850037.jpg?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n Weekly updates from the Tuolumne Meadows winter rangers (approx. Some brief closures are also possible (detour available).\n\n\n\n\n\n#### Big Oak Flat Road Fire Safety Work (15-minute delays)\n\n\n\n\n\nExpect 15-minute delays on weekdays. This work will help restore more resilient forest conditions and safely reintroduce fire by conducting mechanical vegetation reduction work along Big Oak Flat Road between Foresta and Crane Flat. Crews are removing dead and fallen wood and reducing smaller trees near the road. This work reduces wildfire risk to visitors, infrastructure, and firefighters, and helps prepare the area for future prescribed fire or to better withstand unplanned wildfires.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n## Seasonal Information\n\n\n - **[Rivers & Waterfalls](/yose/planyourvisit/waterfalls.htm):** Yosemite Falls is dry while Vernal Fall, Nevada Fall, and Bridalveil Fall are low.\n - **[Bears](/yose/planyourvisit/bears.htm):** Bears remain active in all areas of the park. Be sure to [store your food properly](/yose/planyourvisit/bears.htm), dispose of trash in bearproof dumpsters/trash cans, and [remain at least 50 yards from bears](/yose/planyourvisit/scarebears.htm) in forest and meadows ([but yell at/scare away a bear that approaches you or is in a developed area](/yose/planyourvisit/scarebears.htm)).\n - **[Safety](/yose/planyourvisit/safety.htm) **&** [Public Health](/yose/planyourvisit/health.htm)**: Use extreme caution along rivers and creeks, even as water gets lower. Rocks are slippery even when dry. A bat in Curry Village tested positive for [rabies](https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Rabies.aspx)in May. Always enjoy wild animals from a distance and do not do not handle, feed, or attract wild animals.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n## Fire and Smoke\n\n\n\nYosemite's air quality may be affected by fires elsewhere in the region or by prescribed fire in Yosemite; hazy or smoky conditions are always possible.\n\n\n - [Current air quality in Yosemite](https://www.nps.gov/yose/learn/nature/aqmonitoring.htm)\n - [Smoke outlook](https://outlooks.airfire.org/outlook/) (you may need to zoom in on the Yosemite area to see any current outlooks; these are not always available)\n - [Yosemite fire news](/yose/learn/news/firenews.htm)\n - [Fire closure map](https://nps.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=%5BREDACTED%5D&extent=%5BREDACTED%5D)\n\n\n\n### Fire and Smoking Restrictions\n\n\n\n[Fire restrictions are in effect below 8,000 feet](/yose/planyourvisit/firerestrictions.htm) in addition to the [normal fire regulations](/yose/planyourvisit/firerestrictions.htm#normal).\n\n\n\n### Current Air Quality in Yosemite Valley\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [View More Data](https://www.nps.gov/subjects/air/current-data.htm?site=%5BREDACTED%5D&location=%5BREDACTED%5D)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n## [Campground Information](/yose/planyourvisit/camping.htm)\n\n\n\nCamping and sleeping in a vehicle is only allowed in campsites you are registered to stay in. Open trails aren't necessarily free of hazards. By entering the wilderness, you assume responsibility for your safety and must use good judgment. Trails not listed below are open, but may be snowy and very difficult to find from about November through May/June (and may have other hazards).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n### Yosemite Valley Area\n\n\n -\n\nThrough October (subject to change), the **Mist Trail **from its junction with the John Muir Trail (above Vernal Fall footbridge) to the top of Vernal Fall will be open Fridays through Sundays and on holidays. It will normally also be open Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 7 am (when safe). The John Muir Trail is an alternate route to the top of Vernal Fall at other times. This detour facilitates Mist Trail repair work. [A map of the detour is available.](https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/vernalnevadatrail.htm)\n\n\n\n\n -\n\nThe **Half Dome cables** are up for the season. A [permit is required](https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/hdpermits.htm) to hike to the top of Half Dome when the cables are up.\n\n\n - The trail over El Capitan Bridge, connecting sections of the **Valley Loop Trail **that are north and south of the Merced River, will be closed on weekdays through December for bridge work.\n\n\n\n### Crane Flat to Tuolumne Meadows Area\n\n\n - No closures\n\n\n\n### Mariposa Grove\n\n\n -\n\nNo closures\n\n\n\n\n\n### Hetch Hetchy Area\n\n\n - No closures\n\n\n\n### Climbing Closures\n\n\n\n[Climbing closures](https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/climbingclosures.htm) are in effect on several routes each year from March 1 through July 15 to protect [peregrine falcons](/yose/learn/nature/ss-bird-species.htm) and other closures may occur throughout the year. A free [wilderness climbing permit](/yose/planyourvisit/climbingpermits.htm) is required for all overnight big wall climbs.\n\n\n\n\n\n## More Information Sources\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Weather Forecasts](/yose/planyourvisit/weathermap.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![National Weather Service](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/F1EAD2FD-1DD8-B71B-0BB822191C70EF2B.png)\n\n\n\n\n\n National Weather Service forecasts for Yosemite\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Webcams](/yose/learn/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Snowy and cloudy view of Half Dome](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/F2399B49-1DD8-B71B-0B61302F3F98D5FD.jpg?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n View webcams in Yosemite National Park\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [How High is the River?](http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ca/nwis/uv/?site_no=%5BREDACTED%5D&agency_cd=%5BREDACTED%5D)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Graph of streamflow](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/F26117A4-1DD8-B71B-0B86DFD1ECD89A73.gif?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n View streamflow data for the Merced River in Yosemite Valley\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Current Fire News](/yose/learn/news/firenews.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Current Fire News](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/73624620-AAE9-FCC5-7E96F06F93BAA644.jpg?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n As needed, we'll post updates and information about fires in Yosemite.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n [Tuolumne Meadows Winter Conditions](/yose/blogs/tmconditions.htm)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n ![Skier in the shadow of Mounts Lyell and Maclue](/common/uploads/grid_builder/yose/crop16_9/EFAEECFA-1DD8-B71B-0BCE47547A850037.jpg?width=640&quality=80&mode=crop&format=webp)\n\n\n\n\n\n Weekly updates from the Tuolumne Meadows winter rangers (approx. Some brief closures are also possible (detour available).\n\n\n\n\n\n#### Big Oak Flat Road Fire Safety Work (15-minute delays)\n\n\n\n\n\nExpect 15-minute delays on weekdays. This work will help restore more resilient forest conditions and safely reintroduce fire by conducting mechanical vegetation reduction work along Big Oak Flat Road between Foresta and Crane Flat. Crews are removing dead and fallen wood and reducing smaller trees near the road. This work reduces wildfire risk to visitors, infrastructure, and firefighters, and helps prepare the area for future prescribed fire or to better withstand unplanned wildfires.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n## Seasonal Information\n\n\n - **[Rivers & Waterfalls](/yose/planyourvisit/waterfalls.htm):** Yosemite Falls is dry while Vernal Fall, Nevada Fall, and Bridalveil Fall are low.\n - **[Bears](/yose/planyourvisit/bears.htm):** Bears remain active in all areas of the park.
